The Link Between Inflammation and Autism

The Link Between Inflammation and Autism

Understanding the link between inflammation and autism symptoms can help you in your quest for autism recovery. Autistic kids have gut issues, yeast issues, parasite issues, and their body’s have turned into toxic waste sites. They’re also almost always victims of vaccine injury, causing neurological complications and brain damage. Autism recovery comes from addressing all these critical concerns, but an important aspect of the recovery process that is often overlooked is addressing inflammation.  Kanner’s Contribution To Misdiagnosis Ever heard of Leo Kanner? Well, he was the first person to identify autism in 1943. His theory was that autism was a result of the mother being emotionally unavailable to the child. Essentially, his idea was that the child’s autism was caused due to  psychological damage because the mother didn’t nurture and emotional bond with the child. I can only assume he took one look at the hopeless, despairing, exhausted and flat mother before him and failed to realize that the mother’s disposition was more than likely the effect of raising the child, not the other way around. Indeed, the depression and anxiety mothers of autistic children experience is tremendous. Autism is so common now that the effect of having an autistic child on the parent’s sanity is no longer questioned. Regardless, Kanner’s erroneous conclusion about the cause of autism seems to have left a lasting impression. Autism is still diagnosed with psychiatric diagnostic codes despite decades of published literature documenting the physical symptoms and ailments of children with autism. For those parents like myself who have spent thousands of dollars and thousands of hours in search of answers, we know...
Is Diet is Enough to Heal Autism?

Is Diet is Enough to Heal Autism?

Is diet is enough to heal autism? The Autism Diagnosis My son used to be autistic. Note I said “used” to be. He was diagnosed with autism when he was three, but today is a happy, friendly, and incredibly bright six year old boy who attends 2nd grade in a private school – without an aid.  I’m sure I can answer some pressing questions you have right away before I get into the meat of this post. #1 No, autism recovery isn’t easy. #2 Yes, sometimes diet can be enough. #3 No, it wasn’t enough for my son. My son’s autism was triggered by the MMR vaccine, but there were other issues that contributed to his condition as well. To hear more about Aaron’s story and his road to recovery, watch this video Healing My Son’s Autism.  Today, as I previously mentioned, Aaron is doing remarkably well. All in all, my child is 95% recovered and it all started with GAPS diet. The Autism Diet Trap Before I found the GAPS diet, I spent almost a year (and a fortune) on the GFCF diet. This is a diet you should avoid at all costs. Read GFCF Diet compared to GAPS diet here. The gist of it was that the GFCF diet which seemed to help for about a month…but after 10 months he was far worse than when he was initially diagnosed. I did the GFCF diet perfectly that year, and yet we had achieved nothing but an unreachable and constantly tantruming resemblance of a child. He was so bad that leaving the house with him was impossible, and...
Is There a Cure for Autism?

Is There a Cure for Autism?

More and more people are finding themselves seeking an answer to the question “Is there a cure for autism?”.  And it’s no surprise to me, as I have been warning my audience at every opportunity that if it hasn’t already affected someone they love, their days are numbered before it happens to them, too.  It’s not that I like spreading rumors about the sky falling or about the end-of-all days, but I speak out based on my own experience when I tell you that if we don’t begin intervention in our own homes and in our own communities by facing the eminent autism triggers, we cannot begin to  successfully heal and treat autism in our kids. Autism is a Set of Behaviors and Symptoms Let’s get a few things straight right away. First off, there is no cure for autism because autism doesn’t exist. The Autism Spectrum is a term given to classify a list of behaviors and symptoms that are not understood or explained. Thus, no cure can exist.  Recovery on the other hand is what we can aim to accomplish with our children. People who are successfully healing their children are isolating things like infections, bacterial imbalances, brain damage, and other “failures of operation” in their children and treating those things specifically.  When treated successfully, the autistic behaviors decrease and even disappear creating the image of “curing” autism. I know that any parent trying to help their child doesn’t give a damn about the terminology, though.  All they want, all we want, is to help our kids. My only intent in breaking down the terminology is to...
Is Wheat Bad for You?

Is Wheat Bad for You?

(This article is part two in my 3-part series on ridding your home of toxins and creating a healing environment. To read part one, click here.) Step Two: It’s time to quit wheat.  Hold everything… did I just say “Quit Wheat”? Well, yes I did. I know what you’re thinking: “Yeah, like that’ll ever happen.” Americans love wheat!  We love those chewy pizza crusts, crisp Italian loaves, and melt-in-your mouth donuts.  Why would we ever give those up? How could we ever give those up? How could wheat be bad for you? Well, as I’m sure you already gathered from the intensity of Step One: Go Non-GMO, I wouldn’t be saying this if I didn’t have a really good reason. Quit Wheat is Step Two of my 3 Step Plan for Ridding your Home of Toxins and Creating a Healing Environment because, second to GMO foods, wheat is the most dangerous food a person can consume.  Combine its risk factor with the frequency in which we encounter this product and you have now identified the culprit behind the ugly face of many illnesses affecting both the old and the young in America today. Is Wheat Bad for You? First, let me clarify that we are talking about modern wheat, not ancient wheat.  In fact, you might be surprised to know (as I was) that the wheat we are eating today is not really wheat at all. The wheat we are eating today is a product of genetic modification, not natural evolution.  In fact, we are able to trace just how far we come thanks to a Neolithic glacier mummy...
What are GMOs? (Genetically Modified Organisms)

What are GMOs? (Genetically Modified Organisms)

When I first began the journey to heal my son Aaron from autism, I had no idea about genetically modified foods. I eliminated them by default because I made the decision to feed Aaron (and the rest of us for that matter) only organic, whole foods. I didn’t fully grasp the depth of the damage being caused by genetically modified (GM) foods until I was much further into Aaron’s recovery process and much further into my research regarding our failing American health the terrible auto-immune and developmental challenges our children are now facing. Today I can tell you, without a doubt, that if I had to name the number one danger to our health it wouldn’t be drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes. It wouldn’t be the consumption of processed foods. It would be the consumption of GM foods. GM foods are no joke, people, and the sooner America wakes up to this reality the sooner we have a fighting chance to stop this life-threatening assault upon our increasingly fragile state of health. What are GMOs? Most people have heard the term GMO before, but about only half of those people could actually tell you what it means. Just in case you are someone who doesn’t know, I will tell you GMO stands for “Genetically Modified Organism”. At this point, you might be thinking it sounds a bit suspicious, but you likely have no idea how you’re going to feel at the end of this article. Let’s keep moving. GMOs Are: Genetically Modified Organisms are foods, both plant and animal, that are grown from man-made, chemically engineered DNA. It’s very important...
